Responsibilities

Job Summary

The Librarian will support medical staff, hospital staff, students, patients, and community members by providing knowledge-based information support and training. The role involves promoting library services within the organization.

Essential Functions

  • Conducts clinical and administrative research, ensuring access to print and electronic resources for physicians and staff.
  • Serves as a research and quality partner for organizational research activities, supporting scholarly work of residents, faculty, and students.
  • Supports Continuing Medical Education (CME) activities by coordinating with the Network CME Coordinator.
  • Trains users and staff in new technology and library resources through various methods.
  • Supports departmental technology to facilitate access to medical information.
  • Participates in collection management, including cataloging and journal processing.
  • Assists in supervising volunteers and staff, and helps coordinate work schedules.
  • Identifies trends and opportunities for service improvement.
  • Contributes to departmental planning and policy development.

Education

  • Master's Degree from an ALA-accredited program - Required
  • Experience

  • 1 year related experience - Required
  • 3 years related experience - Preferred
  • Licenses and Certifications
