Job details Spherion is seeking a dependable and adaptable Machine Operator to join our team. This position is ideal for someone with general machine shop experience who enjoys hands-on work, learning new equipment, and being part of a collaborative manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will work across various machines, including but not limited to laser cutters, press brakes, and other fabrication equipment. Responsibilities :

  • Operate a variety of machines, such as laser cutters, press brakes, and mechanical saws, according to production needs
  • Read and interpret basic blueprints, work orders, and job travelers
  • Measure and inspect parts using calipers, micrometers, and other basic inspection tools
  • Monitor equipment operation and report malfunctions or irregularities to supervisor
  • Perform basic preventive maintenance on assigned machines
  • Keep work area clean and organized following safety and 5S guidelines
  • Assist with material handling and staging of raw materials as needed
  • Work independently and collaboratively to meet production goals and deadlines
  • Cross-train on multiple machines and functions within the department

Working hours : 8 : 00 AM - 5 : 00 PM

Skills :

Previous experience in a machine shop or manufacturing environment preferred

Education : High School

Experience : 0-1 years

Qualifications :

  • Mechanical aptitude and familiarity with machine operation and maintenance
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods of time
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to changing production needs
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Dependable with a strong work ethic and team-first attitude
  • Basic math and measurement skills
