We're looking for an experienced HR Director who can lead with integrity and help us cultivate a thriving, people-first culture across all levels of the organization.
About the Role
As our Director of Human Resources, you will oversee and strengthen all HR functionssupporting a diverse workforce that includes field, production, and corporate staff. This role combines strategic leadership with hands-on execution and requires someone who understands the unique dynamics of agricultural labor, seasonal workforce management, and compliance with labor regulations in a rural or distributed environment. This position will oversee other HR professionals and support.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute HR strategies that align with our agricultural operations and business goals
- Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership and field management teams
- Initiate a HRIS and HR Technology program to serve company-wide.
- Oversee compliance with federal and state labor laws, including OSHA, H-2A, and wage and hour requirements
- Manage employee relations, conflict resolution, and workforce planning
- Partner with farm managers and regional leaders to foster an engaged, safe, and productive workforce
- Build and implement programs for employee training, development, and performance management
- Lead DEI, wellness, and employee engagement initiatives tailored to a diverse workforce
- Oversee recruitment, onboarding, and retention programs for both year-round and seasonal employees
- Oversee safety and OSHA compliance
- Coordinate efforts for compliance between HR and finance.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (Masters and HR certification preferred)15+ years of progressive HR experience, ideally including agriculture, wholesale environments, manufacturing, or rural workforce environmentsClear understanding of California Labor Law compliance and ability to enact change to eliminate any identified deficiencies.Hands-on leader with the ability to operate strategically and tacticallyStrong communication, problem-solving, and leadership skillsWillingness to travel occasionally to regional sites or farm locationsStrong knowledge of agricultural labor regulations and seasonal workforce dynamics preferredBilingual (English / Spanish) strongly preferredWhat We Offer
