Summary

Ensures that all traffic control devises, both regulated, non-regulated, and warning signs follow all County, State and Federal Standards, Regulations and Specifications. Operates different types of specialized heavy equipment used to perform construction and road maintenance projects.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist in performing required reflectivity testing. Helps to establish the replacement / maintenance schedules for all traffic control devices within the Precinct Boundaries.
  • Assist with the setup of temporary traffic control standards at various work sites.
  • Input corrective Traffic Signs repairs and maintenance requests in Cartegraph.
  • Maintains the active required Regulatory and Non-Regulatory sign inventory.
  • On-Call after hours for Emergency “Regulatory” Traffic Sign repair or replacement.
  • Operates different types of equipment used to remove obstructions interfering with the visibility of Traffic Signs.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

NOTE : You must fill out the work history and education sections of application to show you have years of experience / education as required by hiring department or be disqualified.

High School Diploma or GED.

Two (2) full-time years’ experience setting traffic control devices, detour signs installation experience required.

Installation and maintenance of regulated and non-regulated traffic signs preferred. Understanding of MUTCD codes and specifications.

Possess a working knowledge of asphalt and concrete pavement.

Must have a v alid Class C driver license.

Must obtain a Texas Class “A” CDL license with tanker endorsement within eight (8) months of hire.

Basic knowledge of computer programs, smart levels, and digital measuring devices.

Effective verbal and written communication skills.
