Sandis is currently looking for a full time Field Technician to inspect and report Stormwater compliance on site for construction projects. This position will coordinate with owners, contractors, and permitting authorities. Our ideal candidate is located in the San Francisco Bay Area, Central Valley, or South Bay. Cool Stuff you get to do :
Perform field and office activities involving storm water monitoring, testing and report writing.Field activities will include (but are not limited to)Construction site inspections of erosion and sediment controls
Storm water and non-storm water sampling and testingMeet with contractors and clients to discuss findings of field activitiesSite specific solutions for projectsOccasional field installation and / or maintenance of erosion and sediment controlsOffice activities to includeProject tracking and organization of field data
Project permittingPreparation or modification of erosion / sediment control plans,Coordination with project teams on pollution prevention methods,Researching pollution topicsReport writing and uploading information to state and client databases.What will help you be successful :
Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, other relevant chemistry / biology / hydrology studies, or an equivalent combination of military training and / or field experience and training.QSP Certification and 10 Hour OSHA Training preferred.Excellent oral and written communication skills along with strong problem-solving skills a mustProficient in Microsoft Office software suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), Google products (Gmail, Maps, Drive, Earth Pro), Bluebeam, and Adobe Acrobat.Basic laboratory handling and sampling skills along with calibration and troubleshooting of various meters and testing equipment.Strong ability to deal with complex systemsMust be able to read and interpret plansKnowledge of environmental regulations and Excellent safety record and safety awarenessAll applicants must possess a clean driving record and current California driver’s license and applicable insuranceMust be able to perform occasional field work using power tools and hand tools.SWPPP installation and maintenance requires the ability to :Lift 40 lbs. multiple times within a few hours
Use a sledgehammer to drive wooden stakes into soil.Lift 80 lb. drain grates with the assistance of another personSweeping and shoveling as neededBe able to work outside in all weather conditions.Travel throughout the Bay Area.Sandis Benefits for Full Time Employees :
