ICU Registered Nurse – Critical Care Float Pool Travel Nursing Job in Columbus, Ohio

ICU RN Job Details

Location : Columbus, OH 43210 – Explore Ohio healthcare jobs in a city with excellent dining, beautiful parks, and a rich cultural heritage.

Weekly Estimated Pay : $1940-$1990

Contract Length : 13-week travel nursing contract

Start Date : January 26, 2026

End Date : April 27, 2026

Shift : Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts per week (7 : 00 PM – 7 : 30 AM)

Hours per Week : 36

Employment Type : Travel Registered Nurse (RN) position

Unit : Critical Care Float Pool (float to various ICU units as needed)

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Minimum 2 years of recent ICU RN experience in a hospital setting

Active Registered Nurse license (compact RN license or Ohio RN license required at time of submission)

Graduate of an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program

BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required

Proficient with EPIC electronic health record (EHR) system

Skilled in IV starts, telemetry monitoring, and ventilator management

Previous travel nurse experience strongly preferred

Ability to float to units of equivalent or lower acuity as needed

Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only)

Two professional references required (at least one from a supervisor or nurse manager)

ICU Nurse Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality, compassionate care to critically ill adult patients in multiple ICU settings

Float between Neuro ICU, Surgical ICU, Medical ICU, Cardiology / Diagnostics, CVICU, and other critical care units as needed

Initiate and manage IVs, administer medications, and monitor patient responses

Interpret and manage telemetry, monitor for dysrhythmias

Manage ventilators and provide care for ventilated patients

Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including physical therapy, respiratory therapy, and pharmacy

Document patient care accurately using the EPIC EHR system

Follow infection prevention protocols and isolation precautions

Participate in orientation and ongoing clinical training as required
