Ability to create sketches, engineering drawings, and perform common computations. Strong knowledge of Excel for data analysis and reporting. Competence in reading and interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, and computer-generated reports. Experience with Teamcenter for design and data management. Prior experience working with Caterpillar and familiarity with 1E specifications . Knowledge of Finite Element Analysis (FEA) . Experience with Electromagnetic (EM) and Thermal Motor Analysis . Proficiency in Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) analysis . Background in rotating component and structural design .
Job Title : Mechanical Designer
Job Overview :
Caterpillar's Electrification and Energy Solutions Division is seeking two experienced Mechanical Designers to support engineering efforts in motor and resistor grid design. This role involves CAD design, teardown analysis, and research & development of mechanical devices. The successful candidates will contribute to the development, testing, and optimization of mechanical systems.
Key Responsibilities :
- Perform CAD design and detailing for motor and resistor grid designs.
- Conduct teardown activities and perform in-depth analysis.
- Research, design, develop, manufacture, and test tools, engines, machines, and other mechanical devices.
- Analyze customer design proposals, specifications, and manuals to determine feasibility in terms of time and cost.
- Investigate equipment failures and operational difficulties, providing maintenance recommendations.
- Assist drafters in developing structural designs using tools, equipment, or software.
