Accounting Senior Associate
Focus Financial Partners is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Accounting Senior Associate to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for a professional with 23 years of experience who is eager to expand their expertise in corporate accounting within a dynamic, collaborative financial services environment. In this role, you'll work closely with internal finance teams to support many aspects of the Corporate Accounting function. You'll take an active role in preparing various accounting schedules and analysis and assisting with the preparation of our monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements. This position offers hands-on experience and opportunities for professional growth within a high-performing accounting and finance function.
This role is based in New Hyde Park, NY.
Primary Responsibilities
- Preparation of various Corporate accounting analyses and reconciliations, including but not limited to posting journal entries for bank transactions, prepaid expenses, accruals, etc. Also assist with allocations of certain Corporate expenses to partner firms / subsidiaries.
- Assist with month-end close process for various partner firms / subsidiaries, including bank reconciliations and routine monthly close entries and analysis / reporting of financial metrics.
- Assist with the Company's Workday integration project, including learning the new platform and helping design processes and schedules to use in the new system.
- Assist with monthly intercompany review and reconciliation process.
- Assist in preparing quarterly and annual consolidated financial statements, including financial statement footnotes and MD&A preparation and analysis, ultimately becoming the 'owner' of such documents.
- Assist with technical accounting research and preparation of memos as needed.
- Various other ad hoc projects (e.g. lease accounting, sublease collections, Corporate consolidation, etc.)
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting. CPA a plus but not required.3+ years of experience in general accounting and / or auditing.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), but specifically Excel (must have at least intermediate Excel knowledge).Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Strong attention to detail and accuracy.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize deadlines effectively.Strong team player with the ability to collaborate effectively across functions, including operations, technology and other colleagues.The annualized base pay range for this role is expected to be between $75,000-$90,000. Actual base pay could vary based on factors including but not limited to experience, subject matter expertise, geographic location where work will be performed, and the applicant's skill set. The base pay is just one component of the total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include an annual cash bonus and a comprehensive benefits package.
