What you will be doing :
Design of equipment, components and systems serving the nuclear, heavy industrial or power industries.
Perform component sizing, thermal load, fluid and gaseous pressure loss, and material calculations.
Working knowledge of equipment and component design and manufacturing techniques
Interface with shop fabrication and construction workforce to resolve component fabrication and installation issues.
Develop procurement specifications, prepare engineering and design drawings
Prepare physical equipment drawings, piping and instrument diagrams (P&ID), airflow diagrams, orthographic and system layout drawings
Develop work packages for fabrication and installation of components.
Work with the fabrication shop team to design and manufacture equipment and components.
Develop material and workhour estimates as needed to support proposal development.
Prepare specifications for selection of suitable materials for construction and welding requirements
Exercise sound engineering judgment in assessing problem situations or complex issues, review completed work to ensure accuracy and compliance with codes and design criteria.
Assist in the development of detailed execution plans and scheduling of engineering and fabrication tasks
What you must have :
Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from a four-year accredited college or university
Eight (8) years of experience with the design of mechanical systems serving the nuclear, heavy industrial and power industries.
