Schedule / Hours : Full-time, evening shift options of 8 or 10 hours. Primarily Monday to Friday with call responsibilities, including overnight and occasional weekend shifts.
Major Responsibilities :
Prepare and maintain a sterile environment for surgical procedures, utilizing aseptic techniques effectively.Assist with a variety of surgical procedures while enhancing your skills and knowledge.Ensure the operating room is clean, safe, and efficiently prepared for each case.Function as a Second Assistant when necessary and respond to equipment and supply issues promptly.Transport patients, equipment, and supplies as needed while ensuring patient comfort and safety.Perform patient positioning and transportation duties with proper technique.Demonstrate knowledge of patient care tailored to age-specific needs, in line with department standards.Qualifications :
Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification from the American Heart Association is required within 6 months of employment.Completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program is required.No previous experience is necessary.Skills and Abilities :
Understanding of aseptic surgical techniques and operating room equipment.Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.Basic proficiency with computers.Commitment to ongoing education and maintaining certifications.Physical Requirements :
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-stress environment.Physical capability to lift items up to 50 lbs, perform sliding transfers, and use foot pedals.Exposure to various hazards, including mechanical, electrical, and biological materials, necessitating protective gear.Capability to perform a range of physical tasks, including standing, walking, lifting, and bending during shifts.This job description provides a general overview of expected duties and responsibilities.
