Cardiac Stepdown RN Job Details

Estimated Weekly Salary : $1470 - $1570

Location : Orangeburg, SC 29118 (South Carolina nursing jobs)

Facility Type : Acute Care Hospital – Medical Surgical Stepdown Unit

Assignment Length : 13 weeks (Start : 11 / 18 / 2025 – End : 2 / 17 / 2026)

Shift : Night shifts, 3x12-hour (18 : 45 – 07 : 15)

Hours per Week : 36

Patient Ratio : 1 : 4

Weekend Requirement : Every other weekend

Floating : May float to similar stepdown or telemetry units

Charting System : Epic EMR

Scrub Color : Royal Blue

Parking : Free on-site parking

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active South Carolina RN license or Compact RN license (required prior to start)

Minimum 1 year of recent Cardiac Stepdown or acute care RN experience (2 years preferred)

BLS and NIHSS certifications required; ACLS and CPI certifications preferred

Proficiency with Epic charting system

Cardiac telemetry and tele competency required

Experience managing cardiac drips (no titration)

Previous charge nurse and community hospital experience preferred

Flu vaccine required (medical / religious exemptions accepted)

Cardiac Stepdown RN Responsibilities

Provide high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients in the Cardiac Stepdown Unit

Monitor and interpret cardiac telemetry, manage cardiac drips, and respond to cardiac events

Administer medications, manage central and peripheral IV lines, and perform wound care

Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including physical therapy, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, and social services

Float to similar medical-surgical or telemetry units as needed

Maintain accurate and timely documentation using Epic EMR

Participate in weekend coverage and respond to emergency situations as required
