Structural Engineer Responsibilities
Independently coordinate the work of the structural design team from schematic design through the design development and contract document phases of a project.
Collaborate as part of a multi?disciplinary team (architecture, MEP engineering, civil engineering, etc.) to lead the production of the structural deliverables for projects.
Analyze and design components of the superstructure for building projects.
Mentor and train structural interns and EITs within the department and across business groups.
Review structural documents for areas of conflict with all disciplines and resolve conflicts in a timely manner.
Establish meetings and participate in reviews with various governing agencies for code compliance.
Conduct design development and contract document work sessions at project site in conjunction with the Project Manager and other disciplines.
Coordinate workload through the design phases in order to complete the documents on schedule.
Perform construction administration (CA) tasks such as submittal review, respond to requests for information (RFIs) and other coordination tasks with contractors in the field during construction.
Coordinate and assist with affected disciplines, with any addendum, change proposal requests and change orders, and incorporate agreed?upon changes into the project documents.
Write and edit structural specifications, select procedures, materials and their respective sizes, and complete necessary calculations.
Perform other duties as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
Masters degree in Civil / Structural Engineering or Architectural Engineering; Structural emphasis.
A minimum of 4 years structural engineering experience.
7 years structural engineering experience.
Experience with design of Data Center projects or large industrial projects is strongly encouraged.
