Job Description :
The Senior UX Designer is responsible for creating effective, user-centered designs for web applications, ensuring seamless and productive end-user experiences. This role requires a strong background in UX / UI design, product development, and user research, with the ability to work independently while collaborating with cross-functional teams.
Key Duties & Responsibilities :
- Oversight : Lead and ensure UX / UI designs follow user experience best practices, industry standards, and accessibility guidelines.
- Research & Translation : Convert research findings, user stories, and requirements into clear flows, wireframes, prototypes, and product roadmaps.
- Prototyping : Design wireframes, mockups, and prototypes using Figma or similar design tools.
- Testing : Conduct user testing and outreach to validate that solutions meet end-user needs.
- Collaboration : Partner with product teams, developers, and stakeholders to align on design solutions and communicate design rationales.
- Accessibility : Ensure designs and websites meet federal accessibility standards.
Required Qualifications :
Experience : 8+ years in software product development, digital design, UX / UI, or a related field.Design Skills : 8+ years designing wireframes and mockups aligned with UX best practices.User Research : 8+ years conducting user and usability research.Communication : Strong writing, organization, facilitation, and communication skills.Leadership : Direct experience leading large-scale UX / UI initiatives.Prototyping Tools : Proficiency with Figma or comparable design software.Accessibility Compliance : Experience ensuring designs meet federal accessibility guidelines.Portfolio : Demonstrated portfolio showcasing user research, visual design, and usability studies.Preferred Qualifications :
Tools : Experience using Atlassian Jira for issue tracking.Industry Experience : Experience working with or for a state or local education agency.
