Position summary :

This position is responsible for the design and drafting of mechanical component drawings.

Major Duties :

  • Conceptualize and use CAD tools to generate all fab packages for sourcing of mechanical components.
  • Optimize mechanical components for performance, cost and ease of manufacturing.
  • Interface and collaborate with engineers to take concepts, sketches and layouts and create detailed design models and drawings.
  • Maintain drawing revision control per Mtron internal document control process.

Minimum Qualifications :

Knowledge & Abilities :

  • Proficient in CAD design using SolidWorks and AutoCAD with a demonstrated ability to quickly learn other CAD programs.
  • Understanding of CNC machining processes and how to optimize mechanical design for ease of machining.
  • Good analytical and mathematical background.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Desirable : Knowledge of ANSI and ASME standards.
  • Desirable : Experience with the use of Mentor Graphics for the design of printed circuit boards.
  • Must be able to work on ITAR data without a license.

    • Education, Experience & Training :

  • 5-10 years of 2D and 3D drafting and modeling using AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
  • AS degree in drafting, mechanical design, mechanical engineering technology or equivalent experience.
