POSITION SUMMARY
The Day Shift Warehouse Associate ensures efficient warehouse operations with primary focus on receiving, replenishment, put away and inventory support. While this position has core responsibilities specific to day shift operations, all Warehouse Associates are expected to support the full range of warehouse activities as business needs
COMPENSATION : $18.00 - $20.00 hourly
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
Process incoming shipments, verify quantities and quality, and ensure accurate documentation according to established SOP’s and timelines.
Restock picking locations, organize inventory, and maintain proper product rotation using "first-in, first-out" principles.
Maintain food safety standards per USDA, DOH, OSHA, and other regulatory bodies; participate in safety programs and sanitation procedures.
Follow Good Warehousing Practices at all times, including maintaining clean work areas, adhering to personal hygiene standards, properly storing and handling materials, and reporting pest control concerns.
Support all other warehouse functions including order selection, staging, loading, shipping, and equipment operation as needed.
Inspect products for quality, expiration dates, and contamination; accurately report and record salvageable and unsalvageable inventory
Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, RF scanners, and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently
Complete pre-trip checklists prior to operating equipment and report any issues immediately to supervisor.
Assist other shifts, departments, and operational areas based on business needs and priorities.
Clean and organize designated areas in preparation for next shift.
Report safety hazards and be an ambassador for safety in the workplace.
Meet productivity and accuracy standards as established by management.
Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Minimum of 2 years of warehouse experience, food bank / food industry experience preferred.
Skilled in operating and maintenance of warehouse equipment including pallet jacks, electric pallet jacks, forklifts, coolers, freezers, electronic scales, etc.
Ability to work in a freezer / cooler environment.
Basic Math, Reading, and Writing Skills in the English language.
Ability to effectively organize and prioritize tasks.
Capable of following directions and communicating effectively.
Strong work ethic with the tenacity to work under pressure.
Capable of completing various assignments responsibly and in a timely manner.
Integrity, positive attitude, mission-driven and self-directed with a demonstrated passion for FSF’s mission and commitment to working collaboratively with a management team of senior professionals.
Strong analytical skills; basic business intuition and common sense.
Forklift Certification is preferred and knowledge of Material Handling Equipment.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORKING CONDITIONS
Hours of Operation : Monday through Friday 11am-8pm. After-hours work is required occasionally throughout the year especially during peak times such as holiday seasons, growing seasons, and disaster response. Frequent after-hours work is required relating to special events.
Environment : Involves activities in both office and warehouse environments with exposure to the climate and South Florida weather. There are extended periods of sitting, standing, lifting, and bending, listening, talking, and / or visual concentration. The noise in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
Travel : This position will have minor travel requirements for company events and training.
OSHA Standards Lifting requirements are 50 pounds and when lifting loads heavier than 50 pounds, use two or more people to lift the load.
