As an Intern working with our geotechnical group, you will reinforce your education through a practical, hands-on, paid work experience. Responsibilities

• Assisting with performing lab testing
• Drafting boring logs and location diagrams
• Scheduling of drill rigs for geotechnical projects
• Obtaining utility clearance for subsurface explorations
• Assisting with the subsurface exploration program and preparing drilling instructions
• Performing boring and test pit layouts by both conventional surveying and Global Positioning Systems (GPS)
• Classifying soil samples
• Performing hand augers to obtain subsurface information and soil samples
• Observing foundation or ground improvement installations
