Parking Event Monitor I (On Call) (Multiple Positions) Posting Number req23755 Department Parking / Transport-Specl Events Department Website Link Location Main Campus Address Tucson, AZ USA Position Highlights The University of Arizona's Parking and Transportation Services department is seeking a qualified candidate to fill their On-Call Parking Event Monitor I position. This position provides safe, accessible, reliable, and sufficient parking and transportation services to the University community and guests during events on campus. Some of the events include, but are not limited to football games, basketball games, Festival of Books, and shows at Centennial Hall.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assists students, faculty, staff, and guests with parking locations and directs traffic during events.
  • The position acts as a fee collector for designated parking areas.
  • May drive a golf cart to transport Parking Event Monitors, signage, and safety equipment like flashlights and vests to and from events.
  • Performs basic maintenance on golf carts after events such as oil and tire checks.
  • May be assigned to check in and check out Parking Event Monitors to track hours.

Physical Requirements :

  • Lifting / moving / transporting up to 20 pounds often.
  • Lifting / moving / transporting up to 30 pounds rarely.
  • Must be able to communicate in a noisy environment with multiple distractions and provide clear and safe verbal and non-verbal directions to visitors quickly and kindly.
  • Work Environment

  • Outdoor Environment : Employees work outdoors and may not be protected from weather conditions.
  • Extreme Cold : Temperatures typically below 32 degrees for more than an hour.
  • Extreme Heat : Temperatures above 100 degrees for more than an hour.
  • Atmospheric Conditions : Conditions that affect the respiratory system, such as fumes, odors, dusts, mists, gases, or poor ventilation.
  • Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or high school diploma equivalency is required.
