Custodian / Housekeeper- Norfolk Veterans' Home (Open)

Norfolk Veterans Home is seeking an individual to work in a beautiful long term care facility and maintain high standards of sanitation required in a healthcare environment. Clean member's rooms, restrooms and facility offices to include walls, windows, and ceilings. Remove laundry from living areas; may assist with delivery of clean linen and personals to resident's rooms. Empty trash containers, carpet care including vacuuming, spot removal & shampooing and perform other floor cleaning duties; mop, buff and wax when necessary.

Requirements / Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications : No specific education, training, or experience is required for entry to this class. Preferred Qualifications : Working knowledge and cleaning experience in commercial business, hospital, medical building or long term care facility; Experience with floor care such as : high & low speed buffers, carpet extractor, auto scrubber, and floor scrubber. Other : Pre-employment background check and drug screening required. Knowledge of facility standards of sanitation and cleaning procedures. Ability to : follow written and oral instructions; operate and maintain cleaning equipment, and mix cleaning solutions in proper proportions. Ability to operate heavy commercial cleaning equipment and to move / lift up to 75 lbs, push / pull up to 50 lbs.
