What you’ll do as a Drafter / IDDS
Create new Outside Plant (OSP) network designs in various applications / softwareDevelop and issue work prints for OSP Telecom networksWork with Engineering and Construction departments and coordinate with permitting agenciesCreate documentation and reporting to support the work package, ie : bill of materials, labor quantities, etc.Ensure facility designs follow company standards and comply with the requirements of local, state and federal regulations, which may include Rural Utilities Service (RUS)Provide any documentation required for the cost-effective placement of communication facilitiesMeet project deadlines and successfully complete tasks under tight timelinesOther duties as assignedWhat you’ll need
To be 18 years of age or olderAuthorization to work in the United States for this companyHigh School Diploma, GED equivalent, or at least three years of telecommunications OSP Design / Engineering Experience is requiredAssociate’s or Bachelor's Degree in a related field is preferredKnowledge of
Telecommunications industry standardsRegulations for OSP facilitiesAerial, buried and underground construction methods and engineering requirementsGovernment permit requirementsOSP Communications Design systemsApplications such as IDDS, NDS, FROGS, AutoCAD, Fireworks, Bidmaster, Infinium and / or VarassetFiber optic counts, fiber assignments and splicing schematics in a high-density fiber environmentPhysical abilities & exposures
Routinely : Work alone in remote locations, use keyboard and mouseOccasionally : Operate vehicle, climb stairs, stand, walkSalary Range $15.00 base with unit pay incentive
