Physical Therapist Assistant Job Details

Location : Hayward, CA 94544 – Convenient to San Francisco and Silicon Valley; ideal for those seeking California PTA jobs

Assignment Type : Travel contract (17 weeks)

Healthcare Setting : Inpatient hospital rehab

Start Date : September 15, 2025

End Date : January 9, 2026

Shift : 8 : 00 AM – 4 : 30 PM

Schedule : Choose Tuesday–Saturday or Sunday–Thursday

Guaranteed Hours : 36 hours per week

Estimated Weekly Salary : $1650–$1770

Quick Start Bonus : $3,000 for new travel PTAs

Physical Therapist Assistant Qualifications

Active Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) certification – required for all California PTA jobs

Minimum 1 year of experience as a PTA, preferably in inpatient or hospital rehab settings

Ability to work independently under indirect supervision in a clinical environment

Strong communication and teamwork skills for collaborative healthcare delivery

Current CPR / BLS certification (preferred for hospital-based PTA jobs)

PTA Responsibilities in Hospital Rehab

Assist licensed Physical Therapists in implementing individualized treatment plans for patients recovering from illness, injury, or surgery

Deliver therapeutic exercises and modalities as directed by the rehab team

Accurately document patient progress and communicate updates to the clinical team

Promote patient mobility, safety, and independence within the inpatient hospital setting

Foster a positive, patient-centered care environment in accordance with best practices for healthcare jobs
