As the project controls analyst, you will be responsible for controlling the scope, cost and schedule for a portfolio of large construction projects. Under general direction, you will exercise your judgment and be responsible for all aspects of project governance. Projects typically have a multi-year duration, and some may be high profile. The position requires skills in managing cross-functional, multi-location project teams using cutting edge project management methodologies.
Your Day-to-Day Activities :
Plan and Organize
Input financial forecast data and provide analysis using software like SAP and Primavera P6
Create and maintain project schedules define activities, work breakdown structures, predecessors, successors, resources, and baselines
Support project manager in preparation of business cases, contingency releases, and management of project budgets within established project governance rules
Develop, monitor, and update cash flow projections
Analyze
Analyze and report on variances for project cost and schedule
Create and maintain Excel-like spreadsheets for reporting and analysis
Measure the progress of activities and milestones in project schedules
Execute
Assist with the execution and administration of contracts, process change orders, and validate and perform accruals
Support meetings or calls with project team members and stakeholders
Support project manager in holding team members accountable to action items
Communicate
Prepare and present timely updates to project manager and analyst supervisor
Keep all stakeholders informed of project developments through meeting minutes, action logs, and status reports
Manage Risk
Support the project team in identifying, resolving, and tracking risks
Escalate risks and issues to find ways to keep projects on schedule and on budget
You'll be prepared for this job if you have
A Bachelor's degree
Three plus years of work experience
Experience with project scheduling and financial analysis
Good verbal and written communication skills
You'll stand out if you have
Experience with Oracle Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project
Experience with SAP, NetSuite, or Sage
Experience with Unifier or Project Wise project management software
Project Management Professional (PMP) or similar certification
A fondness for taking ownership and a willingness to lead
A strong commitment to quality and attention to detail
A passion for training
