Portfolio Manager Technology

BJC is hiring for a Portfolio Manager Technology. This is a hybrid position. We are looking for candidates with Product Manager experience.

Role Purpose

The Portfolio Manager is responsible for the technology strategy, roadmap, demand, and portfolio governance. This includes defining new programs and projectsscope, process and system impact analysis, resource planning, financials, and governance models.

Responsibilities ensure that Portfolio Management solutions align with business goals and strategy. The Technology Portfolio Manager works closely with both technology and business stakeholders and ensures project / program management activities such as progress tracking, risk / issue management, resource and financial tracking, stakeholder engagement, and status reporting are communicated in accordance with the Project, Program, and Portfolio Management framework and business needs.

Responsibilities

  • Leads the definition, implementation, and review of the organization's technology portfolio management framework.
  • Authorizes portfolio structure and ensures alignment with business strategy and emerging digital opportunities.
  • Sets prioritization parameters and recommends corrective actions by engaging senior management.
  • Monitors and reviews technology portfolios for strategic impact and benefits.
  • Implements effective portfolio governance supported by reporting.
  • Plans, schedules, monitors, and reports on portfolio activities to ensure alignment with business objectives.
  • Identifies issues with portfolio structure, cost, risk, interdependencies, and strategic benefits.
  • Ensures adherence to portfolio management processes and reporting standards.
  • Produces governance reports and communicates change program vision across the organization.
  • Maintains business case for portfolio funding and confirms ongoing viability.
  • Defines standards for managing and monitoring technology portfolios, programs, and projects.
  • Ensures effective service delivery and resource alignment with demand.
  • Uses recommended tools for planning, scheduling, tracking, and forecasting.
  • Provides administrative support to project review boards and quality review meetings.
  • Offers guidance on project management tools, techniques, and funding allocation.
  • Supports cross-program views on risk, change, quality, finance, and configuration management.
  • Evaluates project / program performance and recommends improvements.
  • Advises on standards, procedures, methods, and tools.
  • Contributes to audits and reviews to ensure conformance to standards.
  • Sets strategy for technology service portfolio management and aligns it with organizational goals.
  • Promotes technology opportunities and assesses feasibility and impact of change.
  • Authorizes new or modified service delivery capabilities and integrates delivery options.
  • Allocates resources for planning, development, and delivery of technical services and products.
  • Maintains oversight of technology services' contribution to organizational success.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree and / or Equivalent Experience
  • 10+ years

  • Project Management Professional (PMP)
