Eligibility And Authorization Specialist

Direct Care and Treatment (DCT) is seeking an individual to join our DCT Finance team for an exciting opportunity as an Eligibility and Authorization Specialist. As the Eligibility and Authorization Specialist, you will secure insurance approvals for medical services before they are provided, ensuring patient access to care and preventing billing issues. Responsibilities include :

• Confirm insurance eligibility, obtain, understand and document coverage criteria and initiate prior authorizations for all new admissions and / or upcoming appointments of inpatient, outpatient and residential services offered at all DCT programs
• Partner with Central Pre-Admissions (CPA), county representatives, insurance companies, billing and clinical teams to secure payment of inpatient admissions and outpatient services
• Communicate and educate patients and staff about the authorization process, requirements, out-of-pocket costs and timelines
