Overview

Job Summary :

The Assistant Golf Professional supports the overall operation of the golf shop and the delivery of golf services to guests. This position assists with tee time management, merchandising, tournaments, instruction, and ensuring a high level of customer service. The ideal candidate is professional, organized, and passionate about golf.

Experience Required

Qualifications :

PGA Associate or willingness to become a PGA Associate preferred

Previous golf shop or golf operations experience preferred

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Proficient in point-of-sale systems and tee sheet software (e.g., GolfNow)

Strong organizational and time management skills

Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays

Knowledge of the game of golf, USGA rules, and golf etiquette

Physical ability to lift up to 40 lbs and stand for extended periods

Essential Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities :

Provide exceptional customer service to guests in all areas of the golf operation

Assist in the daily operation of the golf shop including opening / closing procedures, POS transactions, and inventory control

Maintain a clean, organized, and professional shop appearance

Support the Head Professional and AGM with merchandising, sales, and special orders

Help coordinate and execute member and outside tournaments, leagues, and outings

Provide golf instruction and clinics under the direction of the Head Professional

Enforce golf course rules and ensure pace of play

Assist with golf cart fleet, practice facility operations, and rental equipment

Maintain a professional appearance and adhere to club standards

Perform other duties as assigned
