Purpose
The Dentist is responsible for the detection, diagnosis and treatment of patients in a clinical setting. They also document the treatment, communicate with patients and refer to partners as appropriate. This role will also participate in providing guidance and oversight to the dental support team.

The target wage range for this position is $75.31 per hour to $93.47 per hour.Final offers are individually based on various factors, including skill set, years of experience, location, qualifications, work schedule and other job-related reasons.Primary Responsibilities :
Direct Patient Care
Enjoy working with school age children around their health care needsDetect and diagnose oral disease including dental caries, periodontal disease, and oral pathologyMake reasonable and sound dental assessments and treatment plans and communicate to patientProvides high quality dental care to patients, in accordance with licensure requirements and NCH policies and proceduresConfident in performing general dentistry, specifically pediatrics, restorative, extractions, prevention, and educationAssures integration of patient education into all treatment phases and partners with patients to achieve optimal oral health that meets the needs of the patientAssists with or institutes emergency measures for sudden adverse developments during treatment of patientsObtains history and physical appropriate to dental needs / care; coordinates care with primary care teamStays abreast of new innovations, changing practice guidelines and standards to deliver safe, effective, and evidence-based care to patients, via continuing education and professional developmentIndirect Patient Care
Communicate with parents and guardians regarding student / patient careReviews patient records, charts and other pertinent information prior to providing careConsults with appropriate providers and makes recommendations to patients for outside referrals as appropriateDocuments all patient visits, communication, referrals, and prescriptions in an accurate and timely manner, in compliance with Neighborcare Health guidelinesParticipate in developing and utilizing Neighborcare Health practice guidelines and procedures, using disease registries, participating in audits, and being involved with risk management and utilization management programsWork with SBHC dental assistant team to troubleshoot equipment issues with portable dental equipmentPerform other duties as assignedAdministrative Work
Assists the Chief Dental Officer and Program Manager in the planning and evaluation of effective clinic operationsAssist with meeting clinic quality improvement and operations goals, striving for an efficient, productive clinicParticipates as a team member with all clinical staff to embody the principles of NeighborCare Health's Service CommitmentsLeads a team of support staff to assure services meet or exceed the expectations of patients, coworkers, the public, and community standardsAttends and contributes at staff meetings, provider meetings, and other in-service trainingsKeep abreast of new developments in dentistry through structured continuing professional developments. Updates delivery of care based on evidence-based practicesMay participate in preceptorship of dental residents, dental assisting students, and / or as a clinical shadowing mentorEducation / Experience Requirements :
Dental Degree required (DDS or DMD), from an American Dental Association accredited dental schoolCurrent Washington State Dept. of Health Dentist LicenseBLS CertificationOne (1) year General Practice Residency or Advanced Education in General Dentistry or relevant 3 years of clinical practice experience.Preferred Requirements :
Completed a one (1) year clinical residency programDEA LicenseRequired Skills :
