Position Overview :
We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Mechanic to join a busy and safety-focused industrial facility in Buckeye, AZ. This hands-on role requires a highly motivated and knowledgeable individual to support plant operations by maintaining and repairing mechanical systems, prioritizing daily work orders, and contributing to both emergency and scheduled maintenance activities.
This position plays a crucial role in minimizing downtime, ensuring safety compliance, and keeping production equipment running efficiently. The ideal candidate takes initiative, communicates effectively with supervisors and team members, and has a strong track record of equipment troubleshooting and preventive maintenance.
Key Responsibilities :
Lead shift maintenance tasks, guiding team members and ensuring timely completion of assignments.
Perform mechanical repairs on plant equipment such as pumps, valves, dryers, hammer mills, extruders, heat exchangers, and bucket elevators.
Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and control system issues through instrumentation readings, visual inspections, and operator communication.
Adjust, calibrate, and control process variables using levers, valves, switches, and automated control panels.
Identify malfunctioning units through control instruments or alarms; inspect equipment for leaks, faulty valves, or mechanical failures.
Maintain detailed shift reports, update maintenance logs, and track parts usage against work orders.
Coordinate with management and outside contractors on special projects and repairs, ensuring quality standards and cost control.
Support compliance with city, state, and federal safety and environmental regulations.
Assist with new equipment installations and participate in capital improvement initiatives.
Conduct daily inspections of mill areas, identify issues, and work proactively to schedule preventive maintenance.
Ensure all machinery guards and safety devices remain intact and functional through regular safety walkthroughs.
Engage in plant cleanliness, safety, and equipment efficiency programs.
Qualifications :
At least 5 years of industrial maintenance experience is required.
Familiarity with industrial equipment such as dryers, hammer mills, extruders, and bucket elevators is strongly preferred.
Prior experience in a lead or supervisory role is a plus.
Must be able to speak, read, and understand English fluently for safety and operational communications.

Timekeeping : Hours tracked by client’s internal system
Conversion : Temp-to-hire after 520 hours
Pay Schedule : Weekly, every Friday
