Job Title : Mechanical & Electrical Assembler Technician
Wage : $18.25 / hour
Schedule : 6 : 00 AM – 2 : 45 PM (45-minute lunch)
Job Summary
The Assembler I is responsible for assembling mechanical, electrical, and shipping components in accordance with customer, quality, and engineering specifications. This role requires the use of hand tools, power tools, forklifts, and other equipment while maintaining a strong focus on safety and quality.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
- Follow drawings, electrical / pneumatic schematics, work instructions, and verbal directions to assemble components correctly.
- Prepare parts for assembly by drilling, tapping, and cleaning as required.
- Inspect assembled parts to ensure quality standards are met; promptly report issues or defects.
- Operate all machines associated with the assembly process with minimal assistance.
- Maintain accurate records, checklists, and logs, including documentation of QC testing and maintenance.
- Prepare and package products for shipping, ensuring accuracy and safe handling.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives such as Lean and Operational Excellence.
Additional Duties
Maintain a clean and organized work area using 5S principles.Safely operate and maintain forklifts and other equipment.Adhere to all plant and corporate safety policies, complete required training.Assist Technical Support Specialists and other team members as needed.Perform additional duties as required to support changing business needs.Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required.Demonstrated mechanical ability and / or prior machine operator experience.Ability to read, write, and follow written / verbal instructions in English.Strong manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.Familiarity with mechanical and electrical systems.Basic computer knowledge preferred.Knowledge of electronics or pneumatics a plus.
