Description

Sherwood South Animal Hospital & Emergency Center is now hiring a part-time Kennel Assistant to join their AMAZING team!  This position would be ideal for students in the Pre-Vet or Vet Tech fields.

Our ideal Kennel Assistant will :

  • Feel strongly about providing high-quality patient care
  • Have a friendly & outgoing personality
  • Thrive in a fast-paced environment and respond to challenges positively
  • Be punctual and have weekend, weekday, and some holiday availability
  • Be able to stand for long periods of time and lift up to 50lbs
  • Not be afraid to get dirty!
  • Have animal related experience in a veterinary or shelter setting

Pet Resort Assistant Responsibilities :

  • Prepare feed for animals according to specific instructions
  • Record important information about the animals’ condition, behavior and habits. Report any abnormal findings to a technician
  • Be responsible for the cleanliness of the interior and exterior of the clinic and property
  • Assist with laundry and keep the area neat and organized
  • Hold or restrain animals while assisting the Dr or Technician
  • Alert a lead technician or the Dr of any abnormal findings with patients / boarders
