Building & Grounds Technician

B&G Tech is responsible for safely maintaining, repairing, replacing, and modifying all buildings related process. In addition, the incumbent may serve as the lead on projects or repairs requiring following contractors on their tasks.

Assists the supervisor with the execution of daily activities and planning the works and tasks daily. This also includes training and monitoring the work of such employees to ensure work meets expectations. Reports variances or shortfalls to supervisor / manager as needed.

• Effectively communicate with Technical Support, production personnel and other mechanics to identify problematic areas of concern; provide and receive feedback and / or support through collection and analysis of information.
• Maintain all buildings and systems and perform basic mechanical tasks to keep equipment in optimal operational condition; B&G is expected to repair 100% of system without direction.
• Perform minor electrical repairs and trouble shoot for the following : Lights and Power panels.
• Assists in the procurement of parts and planning of repairs.
• Read schematics, drawings, and manuals to establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
• Perform emergency repairs : install, fabricate, and modify PVC, Carbon steel and stainless-steel pipes and / or equipment using shop Equpment such as welding and cutting machines.
• Support facility maintenance equipment, which includes the following : waste water equipment, compressed air, refrigeration, Nitrogen and building safety equipment.
• Must demonstrate an understanding of the company's objectives including productivity, yields, food safety, quality, customer service and cost goals; daily work actives should support achieving those goals.
• Oversee or perform (as needed) daily inspections, emergency repairs, routine adjustments and follow periodic preventive maintenance schedule.
• Model professional workplace conduct and adherence to company policies such as the Code of Conduct, attendance, punctuality, efficient and productive work habits, and good personal hygeine.
• Serve as a resouce to others to resolve mechanical and / or people issues.
• Employees may infrequently be assigned to perform other tasks on a temporary basis. "During the temporary assignment, the employee must still maintain compliance with all plant policies but will not be disciplined for productivity-throughout performance."
• Responsible for actively supporting the other members of the employee's work team including assisting with cross-training, new-hire / buddy assignments, and process support during breaks, meal periods, and other staff coverage as needed.
• Installs, repairs, replaces, and perforsm preventative and corrective maintenance inspections on, but not limited to, equipment and system, Chilled water system,s Hydraulics, Wastewater, and Waste sysmtes, Water distribution and filter system, Restrooms and bathroom, Plumbing and sewage system, concrete and Asphalt repairs.
• Inspected daily all the systems to determinte if they are operating properly, especially the restrooms and smoke rooms.
• Indepth knowledge fo all tools and equipment applicable to trade
• Responds to emergency calls, evaluates situation, and takes corrective action.
• Work overtime when emergencies arise to rprevent disruption of the facility. Maintains a high standard of safety, cleanliness, and efficiency.

• To have a set of tools / wrench / etc. necessary to perform all the tasks.
