The University of Missouri School of Law Library seeks a Collection Management Librarian who will provide excellent library services to the Law School community. This position provides leadership to a team of staff responsible for all aspects of collection management : bibliographic access and control, collection development, acquisitions, serials, and digital resources. The ideal candidate will be detail oriented, collegial, flexible and adaptable to change, a strong problem-solver, a team-builder, and an excellent communicator.
Responsibilities :
- Coordinate all aspects of the Law Library’s acquisition functions, procedures and related staff, including serials and government documents
- Manage all aspects of providing intellectual access to materials owned or accessed by the Law Library.
- Provide expertise and leadership in the development, implementation, maintenance, and review of collection development policies and practices.
- Coordinate and manage the development of the Law Library’s digital resources with the assistance of the Bibliographic Specialist and Acquisition Assistant.
- Senior Management Team Member providing leadership in strategic planning and positioning the library for long-term growth and success through visioning, planning, and project management.
- Cultivate strong working relationships with Law School students, faculty, and staff, University of Missouri library staff and faculty, and the wider law library professional community.
- Serve on two or more Law Library, Law School, and other committees as appointed.
- Participate in professional organizations in support of law librarianship as a profession.

Master’s degree from an A.L.A. accredited school of information or library science by time of appointment.
Candidates will be evaluated on
Two-four years of experience in a library technical services department or related experience. J.D. degree from an ABA-accredited law school. Previous relevant experience in a law library.
