As we continue to scale, were looking for a seasoned Controller to lead our financial operations. This role is ideal for a proactive, detail-oriented accounting professional who enjoys building and maintaining strong financial systems in a fast-paced, growing environment.

Youre comfortable managing everything from day-to-day financials to strategic reporting and vendor oversight. You care about operational integrity, enjoy solving problems, and are confident owning the numbers that guide leadership decisions.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • General Ledger Management : Maintain and reconcile all general ledger accounts; ensure the integrity and accuracy of financial data across all transactions.
  • Accounts Payable & Receivable : Oversee billing processes, manage collections, and ensure timely payment of vendor invoices.
  • Payroll & HR Coordination : Collaborate with third-party payroll processors to ensure timely, accurate pay cycles; support the HR team in managing PTO and benefits tracking.
  • Financial Reporting : Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements; deliver actionable insights to support strategic decisions and reporting obligations.
  • Cash Flow & Bank Reconciliation : Manage cash flow, reconcile bank and credit card statements, and ensure liquidity for operational needs.
  • Audit & Tax Support : Coordinate with external CPAs on income tax filings for the company and shareholders; ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements.
  • Process Improvement : Evaluate and implement enhancements to financial systems, policies, and procedures as the company scales; lead the evaluation of new financial software if / when moving beyond QuickBooks Online.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5+ years of experience in small business or professional services accounting
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks Online and Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, advanced formulas, reporting)
  • Strong understanding of accounting principals and financial reporting standards
  • Experience in a service-based or agency environment is strongly preferred
  • High attention to detail, accuracy, and confidentiality
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment
