Senior Software Engineer, Data Acquisition Team Lead

Join Zus, a shared health data platform committed to enhancing healthcare data interoperability by providing seamless patient data through API, embedded components, and direct EHR integrations. Founded in 2021 by Jonathan Bush, co-founder and former CEO of athenahealth, Zus collaborates with HIEs and other data networks to collect and translate patient clinical histories into valuable, user-friendly insights delivered at the point of care. We are currently looking for a dynamic senior engineer to become a vital part of our Data Acquisition (DA) team. At Zus, you will have the chance to work alongside our founding product and engineering leaders to drive our vision for the healthcare landscape. As a member of this team, you will play a crucial role in gathering health data from various internal and external sources, transforming it into actionable insights for Zus platform users.

Your role will involve creating tools that engage with external health data networks to collect patient information and populate the Zus data stores at scale. Additionally, you will develop services utilized by both customers and internal teams for data requests. We seek an enthusiastic candidate eager to tackle the challenge of converging diverse healthcare data sources to provide our customers with a comprehensive view of patient needs in innovative ways.

You will work on data pipelines that handle large-scale data through a variety of AWS services, including Step Functions, Lambda, DynamoDB, and S3. You will also develop RESTful services for both internal and external use. Go is our primary programming language, complemented by some NodeJS components. The team oversees the deployment, maintenance, and operation of its pipelines and services.

• Have experience in developing operationally stable and cost-effective data pipelines.
• Takes ownership of your deliverables and ensures they are safely deployed in production.
• Have experience building backend software in any language, with a preference for Go and some Node.
• Have exposure to at least one of the following technologies : deployment tools (e.g., Github actions, CodeDeploy, CircleCI), cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP), or Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation, Chef).
