This position is part of the Archer Product Innovation Team located in Boulder, CO and will be on-site. At IDT, we are one global team. We celebrate our differences, engage in healthy debate, and are inclusive. Together, we accomplish great things.

Role Opportunities

  • Develop application specific protocols for automated liquid handlers and other instrumentation that support R&D, QC, and customers of the Gene Reading business
  • Manage collaborations with external automation vendors and customers to drive adoption of IDT NGS products in the high-throughput testing space
  • Perform advanced troubleshooting and other sustaining activities to keep automated solutions operating optimally internally and externally
  • Analyze and interpret next generation sequencing data with minimal to moderate oversight
  • Train both internal and external users on internally developed liquid handler protocols

Essential Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences (Biology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, etc.) with six or more years experience in Biotechnology, Life Sciences, Oncology Research, or other relevant industry OR Master's degree with four or more years experience OR PhD degree with two or more years experience in Biotechnology, Life Sciences, Oncology Research, or other relevant industry
  • 3+ years prior experience in developing new protocols that automate multi-step workflows on automated liquid handlers, such as the Hamilton STAR and Beckman i-series or Tecan Fluent
  • 1+ years experience with NGS assays such as WGS, hybrid-capture, or anchored multiplex PCR
  • 1+ years of experience working directly with customers in a support or collaboration role
  • Demonstrated ability to design experiments, interpret results, and problem solve
  • Preferred Experience

  • Proficiency in assay optimization and troubleshooting
  • Developing scripts on the Hamilton NGS STAR MOA using Hamilton's Assay Ready Workstation (ARW) Programming Framework
  • Experience working with or coding any liquid handling robots not mentioned above
  • Travel Requirements

  • Ability to travel up to 10% domestically or internationally

    The salary range for this role is $110,000-$140,000. This range may be modified in the future.

    This job is also eligible for bonus / incentive pay.
