US Battlefield Information Collection and Exploitation Systems eXtended (US BICES-X) is a cutting-edge program supporting DoD intelligence information sharing on current and emerging global threats to mission and coalition partners and emerging nations. Responsibilities :
- Provide technical advice to the Government on matters relating to delivery and access to services through innovative, approved network engineering processes.
- Provide Network engineering support for installations, maintenance and Navy integration projects.
- Act as technical site lead for Navy integration, troubleshooting and maintenance of desktop and network equipment, transport, Navy Cyber / Information Assurance compliance, processes and technical documentation submissions IAW applicable Navy processes.
- Provide direct support to other sites as directed by the C2F N6.
- Analyzes voice, video, radio-frequency, and / or data communications networks, including planning, designing, evaluating, selecting, and upgrading operating systems and protocol suites.
- Configures communication media with concentrators, bridges, and other applicable devices.
- Plans network layouts and configures systems to user environments.
- Analyzes network topologies, traffic, and capacity requirements and provides recommendations for systems improvements.
- Supports the acquisition of hardware and software as well as subcontractor services as needed.
- May provide technical support and troubleshooting to users.
- May perform network administration duties.
- Maintains current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned.
- Installs, tests, and troubleshoots both land based network equipment as well as fly away kits.
Required Qualifications :
5+ years of Network administration experience.Bachelor’s degree – may substitute additional years of experience.Must possess a current CompTIA Security+ CE certification.Must possess a completed CCNA certification.Must complete a CCNP certification within twelve months of hire.Must possess and maintain a Top Secret / SCI security clearanceMust meet DOD 8750 requirements and be eligible for IAT level II access upon hire for positions with elevated privileges. Additional specific certifications may be required, depending on job assignment.Knowledge and experience with routing and switching protocols (e.g., OSPF, EIGRP, BGP, Spanning Tree Protocol, ISAKMP, ESP, SIP, SCCP, etc.)Knowledge and experience with current Cisco IOS software and hardware featuresAbility to configure and troubleshoot MulticastAbility to configure and troubleshoot DMVPN and GRE tunnelsAbility to work in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and multi-task while still ensuring high quality of workHighly organized with strong ability to prioritize work and work autonomouslyExcellent verbal and written communication skillsGreat attention to detail and presentationResults driven, highly efficient, energetic, and highly motivatedMust possess a high degree of intelligence, competence, maturity, adaptability, resilience, integrity, and initiativeThe work is typically performed at client site locations, which requires proper safety precautions; work may require some physical effort in the handling of light materials, boxes, or equipment.Possess a comprehensive knowledge of the principles, methods, and techniques used in network analysis and design.Possess a comprehensive knowledge of routers, switches, patch panels, concentrators, associated terminals, VDI environments, and related network hardware and software.Possess a comprehensive knowledge of desktop operating systems and applications.Possess experience with hardware encryption (e.g. KG-175 / KG-250) required and software encryption.Preferred Qualifications :
Completed CCNP Routing and Switching or CCNP EnterpriseKnowledge and experience with VoIP / collaboration systemsKnowledge and experience with HAIPE-based encryption devicesKnowledge of Virtualization technologiesKnowledge and experience with data center networkingExperience with firewalls and firewall rule setsUnderstanding of network virtualizationUnderstanding of concepts presented in the VMware Data Center Virtualization Fundamentals courseUnderstanding of VxRail Manager and best practicesSalary and Benefit Information
The likely salary range for this position is $62,962 - $80,500. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
