Our client is currently seeking a Workday Architect

Location :  Hybrid – Milwaukee, WI (2 days / week onsite preferred) open to a very strong candidate from the Chicago area that would come in once or twice a month

Contract Duration :  6 months (with potential extension)

Start Date :  ASAP

About the Role

Seeking a highly experienced Workday Architect to lead the design, implementation, and optimization of Workday HCM solutions. This is a critical role in a large-scale Workday deployment, requiring deep expertise in Workday modules, architecture, and integrations. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker and hands-on leader who can drive decisions and ensure alignment with business goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Architect and design scalable Workday HCM solutions aligned with HR and business strategies.
  • Ensure seamless integration with enterprise systems (SAP, PeopleSoft, Google BigQuery, .
  • Co-lead the Workday Center of Excellence and enforce SOPs for configuration and maintenance.
  • Collaborate with HRIS and executive stakeholders to translate business needs into technical solutions.
  • Lead implementation across Workday modules : HR, Payroll, Time Tracking, Absence, Benefits, Compensation, Recruiting, Talent Management.
  • Manage Workday security roles and permissions to ensure compliance and data integrity.
  • Support testing, issue resolution, and change management for Workday deployments.
  • Provide second-level support and assist in training programs for Workday end-users.
  • Monitor system performance and recommend optimizations.
  • Maintain documentation and support custom reporting and dashboards.
  • Stay current with Workday updates, participate in user groups, and leverage CSM relationships.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Business Administration, or related field (Master’s preferred).
  • 10+ years of experience in Workday implementations or related HR / ERP systems.
  • Strong knowledge of Workday HCM, Payroll, and Security.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and adapt to change.
  • Work Environment

  • Hybrid role based in Milwaukee, WI.
  • Open to candidates in the Chicago area willing to travel onsite periodically.
