Public Safety Officer

Overview : Responsible for a variety of routine safety and emergency security activities while safeguarding students, employees, visitors, patients and property. First responder to all emergency incidents within the assigned facility. MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED : High School Diploma or GED MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED : Two years of experience in general security, military or other public safety experience preferred MINIMUM LICENSURE / CERTIFICATION REQUIRED BY LAW : Valid Drivers license & adhere to Piedmont's Healthcare Vehicle Safety Program policy 3500 ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS : Certified Healthcare Security Officer (IAHSS) required within one year of hire. Georgia Peace Officer Standards & Training (P.O.S.T.) certification preferred Carry non-lethal weapons such as a Taser CEW and / or a baton required Must pass pre-employment psychological screening Must pass and maintain all training requirements to maintain employment to include certifications in Taser, ASP Baton, Mental Health First Aid, and others as directed.
