- This is an experienced, hands-on expert role responsible for electro-mechanical assembly, complex diagnostics, and high-reliability testing of our critical production systems, such as high-power electronics or avionics systems.
This role operates with a high degree of independence and autonomy, performing root cause analysis down to the component level, driving process improvements, and mentoring junior technicians to ensure the highest quality and safety standards are met.
Job Responsibilities :
Advanced Troubleshooting and Diagnostics : Lead advanced troubleshooting and root cause analysis on complex failures of electro-mechanical assemblies, implementing immediate and permanent corrective actions with minimal supervision.Test and Validation : Independently validate, test, calibrate, and repair complex, high-power assemblies and final systems.Process Improvement : Analyze and interpret complex data from Control and Data Acquisition Systems (DAQ) to identify trends, predict failures, and recommend process improvements to engineering, actively contributing to Design for Test (DFT).Test Stand Development : Design, develop, and document setups and configurations for specialized test stands, including leading the initial validation of new test procedures.High-Precision Rework : Perform high-precision assembly, modification, and repair, including component-level rework and advanced soldering techniques.Collaboration & Mentorship : Collaborate closely with R&D and Manufacturing Engineering to refine production and test methods. Train and mentor production and test personnel on standard operating procedures and best practices.Documentation : Maintain meticulous test logs, quality records, and detailed technical documentation.
Job Qualifications :
Education / Experience : Associate degree (AS) in Electronics Technology or a related technical field, or equivalent electronics military schooling is required.Extensive high-power electronics and / or avionics technician experience may be considered in lieu of a formal degree.Experience : 2-4 years of direct, hands-on experience in a high-reliability manufacturing, test, or maintenance environment, ideally with high-power electronics, avionics, or industrial control systems.Investigate a failure on a CCA down to the component levelAbility to read, interpret, and work from complex schematics, wiring diagrams, and assembly drawings (Blueprints).Proficiency in diagnostic and repair techniques, including component-level troubleshooting, BGA / SMD rework, and precision soldering.Proven proficiency with Data Acquisition Systems (DAQ), Industrial Controls (e.g., PLCs, LabVIEW, SCADA), and common high-power test equipment (e.g., HiPot, high-voltage power supplies, oscilloscopes).Solid knowledge of circuit boards, processors, chips, electronic equipment, and computer hardware and software.Strong written and verbal communication skills; demonstrated ability to operate with minimal supervision and manage multiple tasks; commitment to safety and quality.
