Position Description : Administers Hypervisors and provides 3rd level support and project work.

Primary Job Responsibilities :

  • Works as second level for Ivanti requests for servers builds including all needed documentation.
  • Provides support for monthly patching of server infrastructure.
  • Works on automation of tasks using Bash, Python, and other systems.
  • Administers hardware and hypervisors including provisioning, patching, and configuration.
  • Trains Associates on how technology functions in a more in-depth fashion and how it is enhanced to address unique Delta Dental business or technical requirements.
  • Primary owner of the creation of Work Instructions and validation of Work Instructions and / or procedures annually or as appropriate for update.
  • Participate in the on-call rotation.
  • Following ITSM processes, manage Linux and other systems including Incident, Problem, and Change processes.

Perform other related assigned duties as necessary to complete the Primary Job Responsibilities as described above.

Minimum Requirements :

Position requires a bachelor's degree with relevant coursework in computer science or information systems and three years related work experience in server, virtual systems, or storage administration with a system certification preferred. Will accept any suitable combination of education, training, or experience. Position requires knowledge of the following at varying levels depending on assignments : Linux / UNIX, shell scripting, automation / scheduling concepts, hardware components and internals as well as server build and configuration; ability to analyze and resolve complex problems using independent judgment while communicating effectively with internal and external customers. Position requires the ability to provide on-call support twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week.
