Job Description

Summary :

The CT Technologist will work in a high-volume Level II hospital setting, performing a wide range of diagnostic CT exams across inpatient, outpatient, ER, ICU, and interventional settings. The technologist will ensure accurate imaging, patient safety, and effective collaboration with radiologists and interdisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities :

Perform CT procedures including routine, trauma, and specialized exams (brain perfusion, coronary CTA, vascular studies, biopsies, transplant studies, etc.).

Support diagnostic services across outpatient, interventional radiology, ER, and inpatient units.

Handle high daily caseloads (140 190 exams per day across department).

Operate CT equipment (GE required; Philips experience preferred) and manage PACS imaging workflow.

Apply knowledge of radiation safety, infection control, and isolation precautions.

Prepare and administer IV and oral contrast media, including starting peripheral IVs and venipuncture.

Document patient care and imaging results in Epic (required).

Participate in 24-hour call rotation (2x / month).

Ensure patient safety, comfort, and clear communication during all procedures.

Key Requirements

Shift : Nights, 3x12 or 4x10 (traveler's choice).

Weekend shifts required.

On-call : Yes, 24h call twice per month.

Must have Epic experience.

Must have 1 year minimum in a Level II hospital environment.

First-time travelers accepted with at least 2 years total experience.

Locals not accepted (must live 50+ miles away).

Guaranteed Hours : Facility may call off 1 shift per 2-week period.

Block scheduling may be considered on a case-by-case basis.

Qualifications

Education :

Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.

Experience :

Minimum 1 year of CT Tech experience in a Level II Trauma hospital (required).

Experience in both outpatient and acute inpatient / ER / ICU settings (preferred).

Teaching and community hospital experience preferred.

License & Certifications :

ARRT (R) Radiography (Required)

ARRT (CT) Computed Tomography (Required)

BLS Basic Life Support (Required)

Washington State Radiologic Technologist License (Required)

Skills :

Advanced CT imaging : 3D rendering, multiplanar reconstruction, ROI measurements.

Body imaging : abdomen / pelvis with and without contrast, colorectal and enterography studies.

Head / neck : carotid, trauma head, sinus, soft tissue neck.

Chest : chest with and without contrast, vascular chest CTA (e.g., PE, aortic studies).

MSK and spine : cervical, thoracic, lumbar, trauma studies.

Specialized procedures : biopsies, drainage, myelography, PET / CT, transplant studies, radiation therapy planning.

Equipment proficiency : GE (required), Philips, Siemens, Toshiba, Hitachi, SonoSite, PACS.

Patient care : radiation safety, isolation precautions, contrast media administration.
