Top Secret Management Position

Plans, organizes, and manages a wide range of complex activities involved in the wing / center Exercise and Evaluation Program. Evaluates unit objectives during exercise planning, develops exercise criteria, forms exercise simulations and deviations, analyzes data, reports trend information, and briefs results. Manages the integration of multi-disciplinary unit resources necessary to support exercise tasks and projects. Represents the IG with a variety of installation, functional area, local community, state, and federal organizations.

Requirements :

  • Males must be registered for Selective Service
  • If authorized, PCS will be paid IAW JTR and AF Regulations
  • This position is subject to provisions of the DoD Priority Placement Program
  • Disclosure of Political Appointments
  • May be required to travel by military or commercial air to conferences, meetings, or other functions away from the normal duty station
  • Work may require access to classified information
  • This position requires a high degree of discretion in relation to sensitive information
  • The employee may be required to work other than normal duty hours
  • Incumbent must attend the USAF Basic Inspectors Course for UEI or CCIP
  • Wing IG inspectors of nuclear-capable units will complete the USAF Nuclear Inspectors Course
  • Subject to pre-employment and random drug testing

Qualifications :

In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions, General Inspection Investigation Enforcement and Compliance Series 1801.

Specialized Experience : Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-11, or equivalent in other pay systems.

Knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSAs) : Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and / or competencies in the following areas :

  • Knowledge of existing DoD, Air Force, and MAJCOM plans and guidance related to the concepts and practices involved in formulating and managing an exercise and evaluation program designed to assess mission readiness and sustainability
  • Knowledge of Air Force, MAJCOM, and wing / center mission goals and objectives
  • Knowledge of a wide range of qualitative and / or quantitative methods to participate in the assessment and development of multifaceted plans and programs for conducting operations
  • Skill in analyzing, planning, and adjusting work operations to meet exercise program requirements and objectives
  • Ability to plan, organize, and negotiate effectively with senior specialists and management
  • Ability to communicate clearly, concisely, and with technical accuracy
  • Part-time or unpaid experience : Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and / or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.

    Volunteer work experience : Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs and other organizations. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.

    Education : This job does not have an education qualification requirement.
