Senior Scientific Editor
Are you passionate about advancing scientific discovery through the power of clear, compelling communication? The Senior Scientific Editor plays a pivotal role in shaping high-impact research at St. Jude by providing expert editorial support for clinical and basic science materials destined for top-tier journals and funding agencies. This role requires a deep understanding of the unique requirements of various scientific documentsincluding manuscripts, grant applications, and reportsand the ability to deliver tailored editorial guidance. The editor also advises investigators and researchers across the institution on writing strategy, structure, and submission planning to maximize impact and clarity. In addition to mentoring new editorial staff (as requested by the Director of Scientific Editing), the Senior Scientific Editor contributes to institutional publications and supports the development of materials for seminars and other scientific communications.

This is an estimate offered in good faith and a specific salary offer takes into account factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the salary range and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current salary range is $78,000 - $139,360 per year for the role of Senior Scientific Editor / Scientific Editor.
