Wilson Engineers is an Arizona-based firm with a staff of more than 210 personnel specializing in water and wastewater engineering and construction management services. We are seeking a Structural Design Engineer to design Water / Wastewater Structures to join our team. This position requires 40 hours per week in our Tempe office. (This job is not remote nor hybrid.)
Key Responsibilities
- Perform detailed structural design, analysis, engineering calculations, and assist in the development of construction drawings and specifications for Water / Wastewater projects
- Conduct structural investigations and assist in the preparation of reports and cost estimates
- Perform routine engineering assignments requiring application of standard techniques and procedures
- Complete projects with clear, specified objectives and limited variables
- Work independently on small projects or assist senior engineers on larger projects
- Give direction to clerical and technical personnel as needed
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
Bachelors or Masters degree in Civil or Architectural Engineering with Structural emphasisEIT certification or ability to obtainMicrosoft Office, Mathcad, TEDDS or similar analytical software experienceSAP2000, STAAD or similar Finite Element software analysis experienceAutoCAD, Revit or similar detailing and drawing production experienceAbility to work in a team environment with the work involving studies, detailed design and engineering services during construction for a wide variety of projectsPossess analytical and organizational skills to support multiple projects at a timeAbility to learn, listen, adapt, and take ownership of workAttention to detail, self-directed learning, and meeting deadlinesStrong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to coordinate work with other disciplines and production staffWillingness to try new things and be forward thinking, with a creative and innovative approach to engineeringPreferred Qualifications
Master's degree in Civil or Architectural Engineering with Structural emphasisPrevious structural design experience (internship or full-time work)PE certification with structural engineering design experienceExperience with construction-related engineering services with the ability to review Shop Drawings, RFIs, etc.LI-DH1
