onsemi is seeking a Director, Analog design, in Power Management group, to join our growing team in Scottsdale USA. This group is responsible for development of Power management products including DC-DC PMIC / POL, Multiphase controllers, Dr. MOS, AC-DC converters, LED drivers, SiC drivers, Switches and efuses for consumer, industrial and automotive applications. In this role, you will focus on the following :
Responsibilities -
- Manage, hire, and mentor a diverse team of experienced and junior Analog IC design engineers
- Lead, motivate, provide training, and create career growth opportunities for the team
- Collaborate with overseas design and systems teams on technical aspects, IP development, sharing of know-how
- Provide technical leadership in driving architecture design and circuit design based on high-level specifications
- Own technical outcome of design, verification, implementation, and execution of Power Management ICs with complexities that can span from simple regulators to complex designs, control loops, and digital interfaces
- Define the overall product strategy and roadmap in alignment with the company's objectives, market trends, and customer needs
- Understand technical aspects, best practices, and design methodologies for power management IC designs
- Understand project goals, create a realistic schedule and resource plan, track execution schedule to plan, monitor progress, and provide full clarity to the team on the goals and objectives
- Collaborate closely with the Systems team to understand system requirements and specification tradeoffs
- Work with cross-functional teams on program management, technology, product, test, packaging, and applications teams at all project phases
- Identify, recommend, and implement new systems, tools, processes, and technologies to improve design, reuse organizational processes and decision-making
Qualifications :
BS in Electrical Engineering or related + 18 years of experience, or MS + 15 years of experienceSolid track record of releasing complex ICs to marketExtensive knowledge of engineering processes, principles, and methodologiesGoal and outcome-focused with the ability to handle multiple projects within the teamAbility to attract and retain key engineering talentExperience in simplifying complex problems into smaller problems and solving them as a teamAbility to clearly articulate issues, challenges, and concerns to all levels of managementSolid understanding of various Power Converters such as multiphase converter, current sense amplifier, SAR ADC, Buck, Boost, LDOs, and relevant Analog building blocksSolid understanding of topologies and architectures for Constant-on-time, Peak, and Valley Current / Voltage Mode control mechanism, Hysteretic, Multi-Phase Controllers, and Smart Power StagesStrong Analog IC design skills, debug of complex silicon problems using simulations and / or bench testingFamiliarity with advanced Bipolar, CMOS, and High Voltage BCD technology, Process, Device Physics, Semiconductor Manufacturing processes, and their impact on Analog performanceunderstanding of large power transistor (LDMOS) Design, Layout, and RobustnessProficiency in leading-edge design and verification tools such as Simplis or MATLAB for architectural simulations, Cadence Spectre for schematic capture, simulation, layout, and tape-outSolid understanding of DC-DC PMIC / POL, Multiphase controllers, Dr. MOS, AC-DC converters, LED drivers, SiC devices and SiC driversonsemi is excited to share the base salary range for this position is $184,000 - $331,200 exclusive of fringe benefits or potential bonuses. The final pay rate for the successful candidate will depend on geographic location, skills, education, experience, and / or consideration of internal equity of our current team members.
