Field Supervisor

The Field Supervisor at Velox is responsible for overseeing complex field operations, managing construction activities, and providing expert guidance to ensure the successful execution of projects. This position involves supervising and mentoring construction teams, ensuring safety and quality standards, and playing a key role in strategic decision-making. Directly reports to the Construction Manager.

Responsibilities

Required Qualifications :

2-5 years minimum experience in underground telecommunications construction, with a strong preference for candidates with supervisory experience managing contractor crews .

Strong understanding of safety and quality standards in network telecommunications environments, especially underground utility work .

Ability to read and interpret construction workprints and work independently with minimal supervision.

Demonstrated experience in identifying underground utility locates , coordinating with locate representatives, and adhering to safety precautions around existing utilities.

Familiarity with permit and right-of-way requirements , and ability to collaborate with relevant municipal or regulatory departments.

Desired Experience :

Direct supervision of multiple crews involved in fiber optic network construction , including :

Directional drilling and missiling operations

Pipe installation

Fiber placing / pulling

Splicing and testing of fiber

Technical and Administrative Skills :

Strong computer proficiency , including :

Microsoft Excel

CAD (Computer-Aided Design) tools

Data entry and tracking systems

Digital communication platforms (e.g., email, scheduling tools)

Soft Skills :

Excellent verbal and written communication skills .

Strong leadership and team coordination abilities.

Additional Requirements :

Flexible work schedule , including potential evening and weekend availability, based on project demands.

Bilingual proficiency is a plus (Spanish preferred, but not required).

Position reports directly to the Construction Manager .
