About the Role
The Senior Staff Manufacturing Process Engineer is responsible for leading the measurement and analysis of manufacturing processes, developing processes and related tooling, implementing standard operating procedures, driving continuous improvements in the factory, implementing new technologies, leading and supporting long term initiatives, teaching best practices for engineering and factory execution, and mentoring more junior members of the Manufacturing Engineering Team. The Manufacturing Engineer’s scope of responsibility covers the end-to-end warehouse process (material preparation, receiving, storage, inventory, and shipment preparation).
What You Will Do
Process Development :
- Lead the design, implementation, and measurement of warehouse processes
- Document and train operators on SOPs to drive efficiency and consistency
- Prioritize process flexibility to accommodate rapid and diverse product turn-over
Continuous Improvement :
Collect and analyze key production metrics such as cycle time and yield to identify opportunities for process or quality improvementsSet factory performance targets and control limitsIdentify and root cause excursions from factory control limitsDevelop and maintain Value Stream Maps to identify opportunitiesLead initiatives to implement process improvementsIdentify end-to-end process bottlenecks and take action to alleviateRoute Cause Analysis (RCA)Factory Support :
Root cause and resolve factory interruptionsWork with factory leadership to ensure tools / equipment are in place and maintainedDocument, escalate, and improve issues reported by factory teamAssist Process Excellence team with improving support management systemLayout Optimization : Analyze and plan workflow, equipment placement and space requirements to improve warehouse process efficiency.

Work with the Business Intelligence team to automate data entry and visualization of data to drive improvementNew Product Transfer
Serve as the primary interface between global production sites, customer operations, and engineering teams in support of new product transfer.Evaluate the technical requirements for new products programs and engage with engineering in developing manufacturing preparation plans.Develop and execute programs to prepare the production system for new platforms or customers.Coordinate manufacturing preparation activities and collaborate with manufacturing planning to develop implementation timelines.Drive engineering and management resources to ensure materials, equipment, training, and documentation are in place to support pre-production and production builds.Assess, analyze, consolidate, and communicate risk & status clearly and succinctly to working level and executive audiences.Identify key program issues and work with cross-functional teams to identify, evaluate, and execute solutions.Coordinate internal resources from engineering, operations, and manufacturing teams in technical issue resolution and schedule recovery planning.Coordinate the engineering & production testing activities which support product development and launch.What You Bring
Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering or relevant discipline8+ years of relevant warehouse experience as an industrial engineer / manufacturing engineerSix Sigma Green Belt Certificate preferredExperience with factory simulation software, FlexSim preferredExperience with assembly automation technologiesFamiliarity with ISO 9000 standardsExperience with and passion for Continuous Improvement, Lean, Kaizen, and Six Sigma methodologiesCapability to apply technical expertise in changeable and varied scenariosProblem solving skills with an emphasis on collaboration and flexibilityAnalytical skills, including the ability to mine data to draw meaningful conclusionsFamiliarity with Data Analytics best practices and querying raw data setsStrong verbal and written communications skillsAbility to simplify complex issues for diverse audiencesAbility to consolidate information from numerous sources into a plan / direction for the organizationExperience with Microsoft Office tools (Outlook, Excel, and Word)LI-PW #LI-Onsite
