Job Description :

PostgreSQL Developer is responsible for the design, development, and maintenance of applications and systems that utilize the PostgreSQL database. This role involves a blend of database administration and software development skills.

Key Responsibilities :

• Database Design and Development : Designing and implementing PostgreSQL database schemas, tables, views, stored procedures, functions, and other database objects to support application requirements.
• SQL Development and Optimizatio n : Writing, optimizing, and maintaining complex SQL queries, scripts and code for data manipulation, retrieval, and reporting, ensuring high performance and efficiency.
• Data Modeling and Management : Creating and managing logical and physical data models, ensuring data integrity, consistency, and security through appropriate constraints, triggers and validation rules.
• Performance Tuning : Monitoring database performance, identifying bottlenecks, and implementing tuning strategies such as index optimization, query rewriting, and database configuration adjustments.
• Data migration and ETL : Developing and executing scripts and processes for data migration, transformation, and loading (ETL) between different systems or database versions.
• Collaboration and Integration : Working closely with software developers, data analysts, and other stakeholders to integrate database solutions with applications and ensure seamless data flow.
• Troubleshooting and Support : Diagnosing and resolving database-related issues, providing technical support, and ensuring the stability and availability of the PostgreSQL environment.
• Documentation : Creating and maintaining comprehensive documentation for database schemas, queries, processes, and configurations.
• Security and Backup : Implementing and maintaining database security measures, access controls, and backup and recovery procedures to protect sensitive data.
• Staying current : Keeping abreast of the latest PostgreSQL features, tools, and industry best practices.
