PERIOPERATIVE INFORMATICS COORDINATOR

Summary

JOB SUMMARY : Under general supervision, plans, implements, maintains and evaluates the Operating Room Information System (Surginet) along with other perioperative clinical applications. Oversees the installation and maintenance of systems such as Surginet or new applications, responsible for system updates and data input, updates and maintenance of system security, and ensures system integrity. Develops computer education program and trains authorized users on the systems as needed in a dynamic environment with the perioperative team to maintain and optimize supporting information systems.

JOB TASKS : Acts as point person for all computer-based implementations in Perioperative areas. Develops policies and procedures concerning use of system; contributes to the revision and implementation of department policies and procedures. Develops long range planning for software and system enhancements. Work with Periop leadership and end users to identify opportunities for improvements to applications as needed.

REQUIREMENTS : Basic professional knowledge; equivalent to a Bachelor's degree; working knowledge of theory and practice within a specialized field. Bachelor's degree in Information systems or equivalent preferred. 3-5 years of ORSOS or Informatics experience required. Minimum of 3 years OR experience required.
