job_description.job_card.job_descriptionSupervise and lead underground crews on construction projects. Operate excavators and other heavy equipment (10,000–50,000 lbs) for trenching, excavation, backfill, and related tasks. Read and interpret underground electrical drawings, site plans, and utility layouts. Ensure work is completed according to project specifications, safety standards, and local codes. Coordinate daily work plans and communicate clearly with project managers and subcontractors. Enforce and model safe work practices and OSHA-compliant job site protocols. Complete required reports, documentation, and field logs accurately and on time. Identify underground risks and implement best practices for safe trenching and excavation (sloping, shoring, shielding). Qualifications : Minimum 5 years of experience in underground utility work and heavy equipment operation. Proven ability to lead field crews and manage daily tasks. Proficient in reading underground electrical drawings and construction plans. Valid Operator’s License for Heavy Equipment. Strong understanding of OSHA regulations and underground safety protocols. Bilingual (English / Spanish) is a plus. Preferred / Required Certifications & Training : OSHA 30 Confined Space Entry Trenching & Excavation Competent Person Certification Silica Awareness / Ladder Safety First Aid / CPR / AED Certification Physical Requirements : Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Work in various outdoor conditions. Ability to safely access confined spaces and trenches. - The ideal candidate will have a strong background in underground utility installation, excavation, and jobsite safety.
