As a Director, System Solutions Sales , you will play a pivotal role in driving success and innovation for EFJohnson, a JVCKenwood company. In this highly visible role, you will be a key individual contributor to our sales efforts by proactively developing customer relationships, leading activities, and positioning our cutting-edge P25 / LMR / LTE solutions for success within your assigned territory. With the autonomy to shape your strategic sales plans and the support of a collaborative team, you will :
Develop and execute strategic sales plans that position us as a communication solutions leader with customers during their needs assessment, planning, and procurement process.Build and nurture relationships with key decision-makers and influencers, becoming their trusted partner in creating tailored communication solutions.Drive business growth by contributing to the success of the sales funnel and uncovering new opportunities in an agile, customer-first environment.Stay ahead of the competition by gathering market intelligence, tracking trends, and anticipating industry shifts.This is your opportunity to join a forward-thinking team that is redefining communication solutions while driving business growth. Systems Solutions & Relationship BuildingDevelop and execute strategies to build strong customer relationships and nurture opportunities before RFP release.
Identify, engage, and map all key influencers within target opportunities to ensure early alignment with solution capabilities.Sales & Business DevelopmentInitiate, generate, and maintain clear territory development strategies to address immediate sales goals and long-term growth, collaborating with other senior leaders as needed.
Prospect and develop opportunities within assigned territoryCollaboration & Strategy FormulationPartner with Capture Managers and Sales Engineers and leadership to shape complex sales strategies that address technical, commercial, and competitive factors.
Formulate detailed sales plans and forecasts, including opportunity capture goals.Customer Engagement & MeetingsSchedule, coordinate, and lead high-level customer engagements, presentations, and demonstrations to advance deals through the funnel.
Represent JVCKENWOOD / EF Johnson products and solutions at field events, conferences, and seminars, effectively communicating value propositions.Corporate Messaging & VisionArticulate the company’s messaging, product benefits, and long-term vision in various formats : prospecting sessions, trade shows
Ensure consistent branding and strategic alignment across all customer-facing activities and materials.Market Intelligence & Competitive AnalysisGather and analyze market data on competitive offerings, pricing tactics, and customer buying patterns.
Adjust sales strategies based on insights to maintain a competitive edge and maximize win potential.Pipeline & CRM ManagementMaintain a robust and accurate sales funnel in CRM systems, ensuring real-time visibility into opportunity progression and forecast accuracy.
Track and report on funnel progress, ensuring data-driven decisions and transparent communication with leadership.Ongoing Learning & DevelopmentStay current on P25 / LMR / LTE technologies, market shifts, and customer needs, proactively sharing insights with the broader sales team.
Continually enhance sales techniques and product knowledge to exceed customer and management requirements.Team Communication & Problem ResolutionCollaborate with cross-functional teams—including engineering, capture management, products, and marketing— to address challenges and maximize opportunity success.
Follow established approval processes and internal guidelines, escalating challenges to leadership as needed.REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE :
Bachelor’s degree in business, Communications, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field (advanced degree or equivalent experience preferred).5 years of successful technology solution-based selling experience, ideally within telecommunications or public safety (P25 / LMR / LTE).COMPETENCIES :
Strategic Selling : Proven ability to drive successful customer relationships before formal RFP issuance, with a focus on strategic, consultative selling.Technical Aptitude : Strong understanding of P25 / LMR / LTE solutions or a proven ability to quickly master complex solution offerings.Mentorship & Team Leadership : Skilled in coaching and developing sales talent, fostering a culture of continuous learning and accountability.Relationship Building : Exceptional interpersonal abilities to engage and connect with stakeholders, from operational teams to C-level executives.Communication : Advanced professional disposition, relevant customer content presentation, value negotiation, and written / verbal / video conferencing communication skills.Application Technology : Expertise in CRM platforms (e.g., Microsoft Dynamics) and Microsoft 365 applications (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Teams, etc.). Fluent in Generative AI applications and prompting methodologies. Ability to expand application skills as new platforms emerge.Agility & Adaptability : Adept at navigating evolving customer requirements, competitive landscapes, and market conditions.Team Collaboration : Ability to synchronize with cross-functional resources, balancing multiple priorities in a dynamic sales environment.Ability to work independently under limited supervision, managing multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.TRAVEL / MISC :
