QUALIFICATIONS :

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Valid Texas Drivers License and clear and acceptable driving record as determined by the Texas School Bus Drivers requirements.
  • Well organized self starter.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in recordkeeping and good writing skills.
  • Effective communicator with ability to interface with custodial staff and campus administrators.
  • Three (3) years of successfulexperienceworking in a housekeeping / custodial environment.
  • Supervisory experiencerequired.
  • Bilingual preferred (English / Spanish).
  • Ability to work flexible schedule.
  • Knowledge of routine custodial practices and methods.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT :

261 days

SALARY / PAYGRADE : $24.92 / hour HS-10

Salary (based on verifiable job-realted experience) as set by the Board of Trustees for the2025-2026 school year.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :

  • Establish and oversee schedules and procedures for the regular custodial care of assigned facilities.
  • Work cooperatively with principals and facilities managers to ensure a high standard of safety cleanliness and efficiency of building operations.
  • Inspect assigned facilities and initiate cleaning and recommend repairs as needed.
  • Coordinate the moving and delivery of district furniture books inventory etc.
  • Direct and assist in setting up facilities for special events.
  • Schedule and supervise summer custodial projects including cleaning and refinishing floors.
  • Instruct assigned personnel on proper and safe use of equipment and chemicals.
  • Operate tools and equipment according to established safety procedures.
  • Ensure that equipment is in safe operating condition.
  • Follow established safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties including lifting climbing etc.
  • Correct unsafe conditions in work area and report any conditions that are not correctable to supervisor immediately.
  • Maintain inventory for assigned facilities.
  • Prepare implement and maintain preventive maintenance schedules for custodial equipment.
  • Order equipment and supplies and maintain accurate records.
  • Recommend replacement of existing equipment.
  • Work irregular hours and respond to after-hours emergency calls as needed.
  • Regular and reliable attendance is an essential job function.

    • WORKING CONDITIONS :

    Ability to work well with diverse employee groups.

    Frequently required to lift and carry loads up to at least 60 lbs. bend stoop and reach above shoulder level.
